I'm Rosa DeBerry King, and I'm fortunate to work at what I love and share it here with you. I am an artist, a photographer, and a writer.

I've had a diverse career in sales and consulting for the document management, prepress and printing technology industries. Focused on technology in the service of education and languages, I went on to teach for many years. A graduate of Cornell University in History of Art and Spanish Literature, and of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, I am passionate about art, art history, literature, and horses—elements that are a constant source of inspiration.

In addition to writing, my creative interests include classical drawing and painting of the human figure and equines. I love sculpting horses, as well. I enjoy horseback riding and find that painting is like dressage on canvas; and dressage a painting of light and harmony on four hooves.

When I'm not writing in my office or painting and sculpting in my studio, I'm usually in the barn. But wherever I am, my camera is within easy reach.

Moving between words and images feels so natural to me, that editing scholarly manuscripts or creating artist porfolios is as much fun as doing photo shoots and painting commissioned portraits for clients.

Currently, I am working on several projects, including a bronze equestrian group and painting scenes from my debut novel, House Key, which is featured on this site and available for purchase. Its sequel is in progress. . .
